Reports

Amanda Williams, administrator gave an update on the school safety and security.

Patty Bruce, Student Advocate gave an update on the upcoming assembly grades 7-10th.

Open Discussion/Questions

Jan Anderson volunteered to be the Chairperson for the committee. She called the meeting to order at 4:05.

No review was given for the cafeteria.

Amanda Williams, administrator gave a brief update on the safety and security. Doors or checked and monitored. Mr. Cook is patrolling all areas of both campuses. The state has started their audit checking to make sure all security measures issued by the state are followed.

Vance Morris will be coming to do a presentation to the 7-10th grades. Elementary will have NED addressing bullying.

October 10th Texas Tech will be in the breeze way to give information about Mental Health Services.

Concern of the dangers of Fentanyl was address. Discussed getting someone to come out and talk to the students.

Jan Anderson thanked everyone for attending and their willingness to serve on the SHAC committee.

School Health Advisory Council – A School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is a group appointed by the school district to serve at the district level. Members of the SHAC come from different areas of the community and from within the school district. The majority of members must be parents who are not employed by the district.
