My name is Michael Stevens. I am the proud principal of Electra Jr/Sr High School. I have been married to my wife RaeAnn for 12 years. We have one dog named Bailey. This is my seventeenth year in education and my third year as the principal of Electra Jr/Sr High School. I’m a graduate of Texas A&M University at Commerce. I received my Master’s and Superintendents certificate through Lamar University. If you are interested in more information about myself please see my Bio. below. As a principal my goal is to provide our students with knowledge and experiences that will give them the tools to become a productive member of society. BIO: I grew up in Edgewood, Texas which is a small town half way between Dallas and Tyler. I graduated from Edgewood High School in 1994. Upon graduating from high school, I attended Trinity Valley Community College. I graduated from Texas A&M University at Commerce in 2000 with a degree in education. I had the honor of beginning my teaching career in Mesquite ISD as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher. While working in Mesquite I served as a bus driver and worked on the paint crew while school was not in session. While working in Mesquite ISD I met and married my wife RaeAnn Stevens who is also an educator. During my sixth year working in Mesquite ISD, I was offered a coaching and teaching position in Palacios ISD. I accepted the position where I taught Special Education students and coached. After one year of teaching and coaching in Palacios ISD I accepted a similar position in Vernon ISD. While in Vernon ISD I taught Special Education classes and coached various sports. While teaching and coaching at Vernon I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. After teaching and coaching in Vernon for six years I accepted the High School Assistant Principal position at Vernon High School. I worked in this capacity for one year then I was given the opportunity to serve as the Principal at Electra Jr/Sr High School. This is my third year as the Principal of Electra Jr/Sr High School.
